“Richard M. Stallman, frequently known as , has been a dangerous force in the free software community for a long time. He has shown himself to be misogynist, ableist, and transphobic, among other serious accusations of impropriety. We, the undersigned, ask for the entire Board of the to step down and for RMS to be removed from all leadership positions.”

@comzeradd I'm calling for removal of all the parasites that signed this

@matrix @comzeradd It's getting to the point the only way to get rid of these pursuers of power is to actively discriminate against them.

@matrix @Bajax @comzeradd Holy shit, these obnoxious idiots.

You know what, purging them from every organization is the only way. They’ll turn whatever they are in into an empty skinsuit.

They drew first blood long ago.

@shebang @matrix @comzeradd @Bajax

" He has shown himself to be misogynist, ableist, and transphobic, among other serious accusations of impropriety. " These are in the appendix of the site ( rms-open-letter.github.io/appe ) and lists its sources. Which is for as far as accusations go really well sourced.

This said, its like 50/50. On one hand there are some dodgy things in there that shines badly on him, then again; are there things that have gone through the courts? On the other hand some of the complaints are so...meh. So trivial. People with thin skins that are unable to handle different opinions.

@shebang @matrix @comzeradd @Bajax

Also, why is nobody addressing the elephant in the room here?

How come this open letter is hosted on some dodgy website owned by Microsoft? ( news.microsoft.com/announcemen )

@comzeradd The main accusation is that he has “problematic opinions”, it seems

@comzeradd It's like every other singnature is associated with GNOME or Debian

@comzeradd

“We, the undersigned, ask for the entire Board of the #FSF to step down ...”

Including those Board members who specifically voted against his reinstatement? This seems like overreach.

@nattiegoogie @comzeradd I'd agree that it's a bit of an overreach, but since none of it was public, and no statement has been released, it's tough to be more nuanced.

@comzeradd Also the president of the @fsfe was attacked similar, also woman-hatred while he never such impression to me. Okay, it is subjective but that's my impression.

"Stallman had to resign from the foundation he started in order to save it from a similar smear campaign. All over an email voicing a perspective shared by a world-renowned civil-rights lawyer and feminist. Voicing such a perspective was even decried as “abuse!” because it was so politically incorrect, but what happens if society gets “politically correct” wrong?"
